Hello

Thank you for visiting this blog, I hope its content can help you to see the world from different lenses, I created this blog with the intent to introduce the idea that every spiritual path has to be inclusive, meaning it has to include the environment we live in. Some spiritual practices believe you have to be remote from society to be closer to the Higher World, or God. But in some other traditions is quite the opposite one becomes more spiritual by going through the sufferings of daily life and social issues are included in the path to the Higher World. Spirituality comes from how we react to suffering and not by blocking it. Spiritual life happens by recognizing our emotions and not by blocking them. So with this in mind, I am creating this blog as a space for anyone who wants to share their observations, struggles, feelings, or happiness. You can share by going to the Forum page. To get inspired with daily spiritual quotes take a look at my published books on spiritual thoughts, and to learn about how I understand certain themes you can visit my blog page. I hope you can find a space here to be who you are because we need everyone to be who we are to create a wholesome world.

My Story

I hail from a distinct background as a Brazilian Jew, born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil. My parents, both Jewish, shaped my upbringing in unique ways. My mother, a Holocaust survivor who fled World War II from Warsaw to Brazil at the age of 6 with her mother, became a renowned psychologist in Brazil, contributing to the University of Sao Paulo and publishing numerous books. On the other hand, my father, a first-generation Brazilian of Russian Jewish immigrants, founded a highly successful consulting company, leaving a significant mark on the business world.

Growing up in a Jewish assimilated home meant that we didn't actively practice Judaism, except for occasional visits to my paternal grandparents in Rio de Janeiro during Jewish holidays. My mother, traumatized by her experiences during the Holocaust, hesitated to associate herself openly with Judaism. Meanwhile, my father's influence, shaped by his time spent in the USA as a teenager, rendered him a blend of half-American and half-Brazilian.

In a household where philosophical discussions and introspection were paramount, spirituality became an intrinsic part of my life. Sharing dreams every Sunday was a tradition, fostering a spiritual environment. I explored this intersection of psychology and spirituality in an article for a Jewish Brazilian newspaper, titled 'Where Psychology Ends and the Divine Begins,' which received significant attention. However, this blog delves into a range of topics, emphasizing that spirituality coexists with the practical aspects of life. In Jewish tradition, it is believed that one must first secure their daily bread to have the strength to connect with the Higher World.

My academic journey led me to graduate as an Architect in Brazil. While in college, I led a spiritual Jewish group, drawing from my studies with esoteric and spiritual Rabbis since the age of 17. Intent on becoming a Rabbi, I moved to New York to study at the Jewish Theological Seminary. However, a required year of study in Israel altered my plans, leading me to fall in love with the country and make it my permanent home. After meeting my husband and starting a family in Israel, we eventually moved back to the USA, initially residing in New Jersey before settling in California with our two daughters.

With a background that extends beyond architecture, my interests in mathematics (which has a strong spiritual component) and computers led me to work as a software Architect and IT Project Manager for the California government over the past 15 years. My journey reflects a dynamic blend of spirituality, academia, family, and professional pursuits.
