Overestimating Artificial Intelligence

Updated: Oct 12

AI is not as a big deal as it seems, I am a computer programmer myself. AI will not replace our creativity or our ability to write. It is still a machine with its limitations and needs a human being with feelings and intellect to refine what it writes, or even initiate the writing. When the industrial revolution came we all thought we wouldn't be humans anymore and here we are the same as we were millions of years ago. Soul and essence do not die until our bodies do.

Remember how cool or amazing we thought when iPod came into existence? And now it is completely forgotten and replaced by much more advanced technology but human brains, thinking processes and feelings cannot be replaced by machines. AI Is nothing more than a bunch of data. We produce a massive amount of data every day, and sooner or later we computer programmers would find a way to utilize that. And it is not that different than when using Siri, you ask a question and Siri fetches the answers in the vast amount of data at our disposal on the internet.

So, yes computers created ethical issues, that humans are so bright to create things and those things solve problems but create others. And we should be more focused on creating regulations when we introduce something that might change the way we function. For example, there should be a way to identify if an article is written by AI or a human, like having a digital stamp. So the reader can decide how much credibility to give to what he or she is reading, there might be more credibility in AI articles but let the reader decide.

Friendly white robot with bright eyes, holding a tablet, stands indoors against a brick and wood wall. It has a cheerful appearance.
