We have hard time to look up
Social media cannot replace face to face relationships
Since technology became part of our daily lives the world never rests, not only our devices are in constant use but all the infrastructure that never sleeps to make all the billion computers and devices keep running day after day hour after hour.
So, how humans are adapting to this new lifestyle? It has been a huge stretch for the older generation to adapt to a quite unhealthy lifestyle, unhealthy because it goes against our natural tendencies. Our bodies are not built to sit hours after hours, looking at a screen, or typing there are studies made to prove that sitting is one of the worst positions for humans.
So, then we make ourselves a commitment to go to the gym every day for an hour of exercise, which may help but so little, still, we are living so far away from our natural “form”, while we abuse it. All the infinite energy that computer creates pollutes the environment, and all the waste they create kills our earth.
But how do create better lives? Mother nature may have a chance to rest if a pandemic happens for a rebalance even though the pandemic might cause us to use more computers and devices than before. Or a major natural disaster that might destroy most of the network and infrastructure that runs 24/7, then we might have a chance to start again with a better understanding of the impact on our lives and earth from the things we create.
Because computers never stop they are forcing us never to stop either, computers are running our lives now. Science is finding ways for us to live longer while we kill ourselves and the planet, such a dichotomy!
